Non-Surgical Cheek Enhancement, Using Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are well-known for the plumped-up results that they can produce. While you may think that their applications are limited to laugh lines, foreheads and boosting lip size, the reality is that they can be used to treat a number of concerns you may have, including reducing the size of pores and enhancing your cheeks.

Importance of cheek fillers for your face

Dermal fillers can be used as an alternative to surgical cheek enhancements. From adjusting the shape to adding volume, you may just find that the results are just what you’ve been looking for.

Fillers can be used to combat the signs of aging, but can also be used to enhance the proportions of the cheeks and create a balanced aesthetic. The cheek and facial proportions can become out of balance as we age. Cheek enhancements can have a positive effect on restoring those proportions. You can expect the results to last for 18 months to 2 years.

How aging affects on cheeks

While they tend to be largely ignored for most of our lives, our cheeks are an important facial feature. They have a tendency to droop down and flatten as we age. This can lead to an overall drooping appearance of the face, particularly around the mouth and eyes. As a result of drooping cheeks and a loss of volume, many of us can see a worsening of our crow’s feet and other fine lines around the eyes.

Cheek enhancement with dermal fillers

Cheeks can be enhanced with the surgical insertion of cheek implants. The results are typically very well done. However, not all patients are ready for a permanent alteration. Cheek fillers offer long-lasting results and also offer patients the option for easy adjustability is just a quick visit to the clinic.

The amount of filler that is needed will vary between individuals and may also be based upon the amount of volume loss that each person is facing.

Side effects of cheek enhancement with dermal fillers

Mild redness and swelling may appear immediately after the procedure, but will subside within several days. Occasionally, localized bruising is possible. However, most patients are able to return to work and daily activities immediately after cheek enhancement. As with any cosmetic procedure, cheek enhancement aftercare involves certain steps that your cosmetic nurse will discuss with you during your consultation.

The benefits of waxing

Are you sick of shaving? Don’t have the time to shave as often? Or are you suffering from skin irritations caused by shaving? Well, maybe it’s time you tried waxing!

Some of the best beauty therapy out there are the ones that have been around forever, but you just haven’t tried yet.

Top 10 benefits of waxing

  1. Waxing lasts longer than shaving because it pulls the hair from the roots.
  2. No cuts or nicks that can leave you with scars.
  3. Shaving can cause rashes on sensitive skin.
  4. For many, waxing makes the hair grow slower and finer.
  5. Waxing produces smoother results because hair is pulled from the root.
  6. Shaving can result in stubbles. If you don’t shave often enough, your legs will feel rough and abrasive.
  7. Waxing will make your skin feel smoother longer without feeling itchy, because of slower hair regrowth.
  8. Contrary to popular belief, waxing is not always painful. if you do it right, it is almost pain-free.
  9. Waxing is fast and convenient.
  10. Skin is less susceptible to irritations associated with shaving. You can also use, hair growth retardants to slow down hair growth and minimise ingrown hairs, irritation, redness and bumps caused by shaving, waxing, hair removal cremes and electrolysis.

All About Appearance Medicine and Its Types

What beauty is all about?

The world we live in is filled with social pressures and societal expectations.  There is a huge focus on being more beautiful – but what is beauty?

Some may say “beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder”, others that “beauty is all about how you see yourself” – I would argue that it is both.  I would also suggest that confidence enhances beauty and beauty enhances confidence.

When someone looks good, they are more likely to feel confident and society is often kinder to them.  A confident person with a strong sense of self-worth is likely to be viewed and treated by society as more beautiful than a person lacking self-esteem.

Appearance medicine is the solution

The majority of the clients I consult are not driven to be the most beautiful women at a cocktail party or social event, nor are they trying to look half their age.  Most of my clients share the common goal of looking and feeling good at whatever age they are.  Botox and Dermal Fillers, such as Juvederm fillers can be used to enhance a client's natural beauty, and assist them to feel more confident in their day to day life.

Emotions such as tired, angry and sad are often words people use to describe their faces.  My goal as a cosmetic injector is to improve these emotions and enable my clients to feel more confident about the way they look, and thus the way that they feel and describe themselves.  An easy example of this is the frown lines that develop between the brows. These are usually perceived to reflect a negative emotion, such as anger or frustration – in reality, they may be the result of concentration, or squinting in the sun.

By relaxing the wrinkle-causing muscles in the frown, with a few small injections of Botox, a client can feel fresher, relaxed, more confident and more beautiful. The appearance medicine procedure takes a few minutes, and about a week to kick in, but following that the Botox in the area is likely to take effect for anywhere from 3-5 months or more.  Yes – it is that simple.

Dermal fillers Lip enhancement

So by lip enhancement, we mean HUGE pouty, cartoonish lips right?  WRONG!...
Lip enhancements, when done correctly, align with a client's natural aesthetics.
Lip enhancement with dermal filler is able to create and support hydration and proportionate volume to the lips and their surroundings and enable the client to look natural and refreshed.

We acknowledge that there are different techniques and products, resulting in variable results and have all seen celebrity disasters.  However, many of us wouldn’t notice the subtle enhancements that many attractive celebrities have experienced.  The truth is we all can't have Angelina Jollie's lips – nor do we all want them.  For most people, the volume of products required to even attempt such a thing would be an unaffordable, disastrous venture!.

What most of us do want is a natural, age-appropriate, hydrated lip, with minimal “smokers lines”.  And this is achievable for most. At the Beautiphi clinic, we use hyaluronic acid fillers (complex sugar), which is a substance that occurs naturally in the body. For many clients treating the lip, surrounds can address the concerns the client has within the lip. As we age, we commonly lose fat pads in the lip region, and lose the support at the corners of the mouth, making the lips sag and the client appear to be frowning (when they are not).  By supporting these areas we can reshape and support the lips.

Similarly addressing the border of the lip can help to soften the perioral lines (smokers lines), which we develop with age. The products we use are natural feeling and soft and last for around 12 months.  By drawing moisture to the area, hyaluronic acid has the added benefit of creating a well-hydrated lip.  There is an inbuilt local anesthetic for patient comfort.  The procedure takes under an hour, and you can resume most regular activities immediately following.

For most, the side effects of lip fillers are minimal, however bruising and swelling are always a possibility so timing your procedure appropriately is an important consideration.
